Moosehaven’s most anticipated holiday tradition, the Christmas Tree Lighting and its accompanying festivities, returned on December 12–13, bringing two days of fellowship, food, and festive cheer to campus. This cherished celebration has been generously sponsored by the Georgia Moose Association for 29 years, a legacy of generosity our community holds dear.
The festivities began Friday afternoon with two special gatherings. The men were treated to a relaxed Social featuring pulled pork and potato salad, offering a welcoming space for conversation and camaraderie. At the same time, the ladies hosted their beloved Holiday Tea Party, serving croissant chicken salad sandwiches, pimento cheese sandwiches, potato salad, and an assortment of delicious desserts.
Friday evening continued the celebration with a lively pizza party, where residents enjoyed great food and music provided by DJ Alan, creating an upbeat and joyful atmosphere to kick off the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, residents gathered for a delicous picnic featuring hot dogs, baked beans, and coleslaw, followed by a sweet treat of banana bread pudding. The weekend culminated with the highlight of the celebration – the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in the Moosehaven Chapel. When the Georgia Moose Association flipped the switch, the chapel tree and campus were illuminated, and lights throughout Moosehaven—including inside residents’ homes – sparkled to life in a breathtaking display of holiday magic.
This beloved tradition continues to be a cornerstone of Moosehaven’s Christmas season. We are deeply grateful to our Georgia Moose family for their continued generosity, dedication, and heartfelt commitment to bringing joy to our residents. On behalf of everyone who lives and works at Moosehaven, thank you for making the season shine.
