Moosehaven residents come from all parts of North America, plus Great Britain and Bermuda! This means that they may be far from their families, friends, Lodges, and Chapters. Too often, the distance, and a long time between family visits, can create a feeling of being “forgotten.” As a leader in your Lodge or Chapter . . . have you ever considered befriending a Moosehaven senior citizen? Such a rewarding relationship has a reciprocal benefit, one for the Moose resident and one for the Lodge/Chapter.
Initiating the relationship, the Lodge/Chapter usually sends stamps, gift cards, and phone cards to begin correspondence. It is certainly not necessary to shower the Sunshine Grandparent with gifts. As friendships develop, often the Lodge/Chapter will invite their Sunshine Grandparent to visit the Lodge/Chapter (at the Lodge/Chapter’s expense) during the resident’s vacation month. When visiting the Lodge/Chapter, the Sunshine Grandparent is often invited to be a guest speaker at the Lodge/Chapter meeting. It proves very interesting to listen to them tell of their life and experiences as a resident of Moosehaven.
You are invited to forge a rewarding relationship with a Moosehaven Sunshine Grandparent. When you contact us to make it happen, you may request that your Sunshine Grandparent be a man, a woman, a couple, or just whomever we believe would most like to have their days brightened by becoming a Sunshine Grandparent for your Lodge/Chapter.
