Moosehaven now offers Moose members two choices for admission: The Asset-Surrender Plan or the Fee-for-Service Plan. These choices are designed to help meet the various financial needs of Moose members. Under both plans, applicants must be at least 65 years of age and be physically and mentally able to independently care for themselves.
Under the Asset-Surrender plan, applicants approved for admission are required to turn over all financial assets prior to admission to Moosehaven, Inc. The Moosehaven Board of Directors holds these assets in an estate fund. In return, Moosehaven provides for every need of daily living -- all housing, meals, activities, transportation, and personal and medical care.
The initial step in seeking application to Moosehaven for the Asset Surrender plan is to contact your local Moose Lodge or Chapter for further information.
Under the Fee-for-Service plan, residents pay Moosehaven a one-time Entrance Fee for the home of their choice in the brand-new Brandon Place area, then an ongoing Monthly Service fee. Residents retain their assets and personal property while enjoying the amenities and services of Moosehaven – yet are comforted by the knowledge that when their health-care needs intensify, they will receive their care in the LifeCare Center at Moosehaven. The best way to learn about Moosehaven is to visit the campus and tour the entire facility. Experience has shown that those members who have visited the campus are considerably more comfortable in their decision to move to Moosehaven. Moosehaven can be easily reached by Interstates 10, 95, and 295 to U.S. Route 17, just 15 miles south of Jacksonville. There are a number of convenient hotels/motels within minutes of Moosehaven’s entrance.
